Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition
For many years TeleComputers has installed the Corporate Edition of Norton Anti-Virus onto our new machines.   We had purchased package pricing so we could protect our customers computers and laptops.  Recently Norton (Symantec) has produced an update that will stop the program from working any more.  The update will automatically install itself during the routine update of program and virus definitions.  Once the update is complete the program will automatically stop scanning.  Most times customers will get a message that the "User has stopped the scan" when you try to scan.

The Norton web site suggests that we have gotten enough protection from your investment and that it is time to purchase a newer version in order to continue your protection.

If you have Norton Corp version still running on your older TeleComputers PC or laptop - we suggest that you get a new machine from us since you have obviously gotten enough value out of that machine.  Only joking... we would not do that to you and we like to hear that some of our ten year old PCs are still in service!  However, most likely, your AV will stop working shortly if you still have the Corp Edition installed.  We suggest you switch to Avast (www.avast.com) - the Home Version is free for 30 days and then free for a full year with an easy online registration.  It can be easily downloaded from their web site.  Make sure you get the "Home Version" as the web site is all about trying to convince you to get the Pro Version (which is not free).
